Nutrition
Seafood is great source of protein and healthy omega 3 fatty acids. It is low in saturated fat and cholesterol, and contains many of the vitamins and minerals, which are essential for the proper functioning of our bodies-from vitamin B complex to zinc, and even calcium.
The Professionals at British Nutrition Foundation (2005) highlighted the importance of including seafood in a weekly diet, eating at least two portions a week, one of which should be oil- rich.
In addition to vitamins, seafood is also a natural source of important minerals; iron, zinc, iodine and selenium. Iron in the daily food intake can reduce fatigue while selenium and iodine can also boost the immune system.
